Hockey season has finally started. Before I moved to Smithers last year I was used to playing all year round. I really miss that. The void of hockey in the summer was filled by getting the opportunity to play "real" soccer on a "real" team. This was something that I had wanted to do for a longtime but because of timing and not knowing the right people I didn't have the chance. It was a real test for me. There's so much running and I wasn't accustomed to it. By the end of the summer my endurance was up but I was starting to feel pressure in my shins and knees when I was playing. I endured and it was all worth it. I can't wait to play again next summer. But back to hockey. I play in the Smithers Oldtimers League. There's 8 teams, which is two more than started last year and it's good competitive fun. The hours aren't ideal for me as I'm still doing the morning show at the Peak but I love to play so I don't feel like there's anything I can do except take a nap and play hockey. Here's this years sweater.
