Hockey season has finally started. Before I moved to Smithers last year I was used to playing all year round. I really miss that. The void of hockey in the summer was filled by getting the opportunity to play "real" soccer on a "real" team. This was something that I had wanted to do for a longtime but because of timing and not knowing the right people I didn't have the chance. It was a real test for me. There's so much running and I wasn't accustomed to it. By the end of the summer my endurance was up but I was starting to feel pressure in my shins and knees when I was playing. I endured and it was all worth it. I can't wait to play again next summer. But back to hockey. I play in the Smithers Oldtimers League. There's 8 teams, which is two more than started last year and it's good competitive fun. The hours aren't ideal for me as I'm still doing the morning show at the Peak but I love to play so I don't feel like there's anything I can do except take a nap and play hockey. Here's this years sweater.

#10?
Other than Marc Belke, what famous tens have there been?
All time, nine players have worn 10 for the Oilers: Shawn Horcoff, Ryan Smyth, Pat Falloon, Steve Kelly, Mariusz Czerkawski, Ilya Byakin, Esa Tikkanen, Jaroslav Pouzar, Matti Hagman.
Other notables 10s: Guy Lafleur (MTL, NYR, QUE), Dale Hawerchuk (WIN, BUF), Patrick Sharp (CHI), Barry Pederson (BOS,PIT), Ron Duguay (DET, PIT), Alex Delvecchio (DET), Syl Apps (TOR), Brenden Morrow (DAL), Dale McCourt (DET), John LeClair (PHI, PIT), and Joe Murphy!! (DET).
However, as an Oiler fan, a #10 of less than stellar reputation: After leaving the Oil, 10 was worn for two seasons in Detroit by the one and only Jimmy Carson.
It's gotta be Tikkanen. Pele wore #10 as well.
