My week in sports. I watch alot of sports on TV. I thought I would just review what and how, I saw the this week in sports.

The UEFA Champions League Final was on Wednesday. My team, Manchester United was playing Chelsea in Moscow. The final was an interesting matchup for European club football supremecy because both teams in the final play in Englands Premier League. In fact, 3 of the 4 finalists this year, were Premier Leeague teams.

Manchester United scored pretty early in first half. Suitable that Christiano Ronaldo should head one in as he's been on a tear this year scoring 42 goals this year, a record for scoring in one seasonat @ Manchester United. This looks the year he becomes one of the worlds truly elite players. It will be exciting to see him further solidify that reputation at Euro 2008 next month.

So back to the final. It was a great. Chelsea tied up the game at the end of the first half and then hit 2 post in the second half to inspire a little nail biting. They played extra time and then went to penalty kicks. Ronaldo missed his shot from the spot to make things feel very Chelsea until John Terry, who made an incredible defensive play to stop Giggs from getting what would have been a fairy tale game winner in the second half of the game, slipped and missed his shot which re-opened the door for Man U. Van Der Sar stopped Anelka and Manchester Untited won its 4th Champions League title. Sweet.

Surprisingly, I actually watched a bit of basketball as the NHL decided to take a week off before the Stanley Cup final, which starts today. I love NHL hockey but the season is way too long! All of the major sports leagues seasons' are too long. There should be little to no over lapping of sports. I know it's just a dream, but why can't I dream.

The Boston Celtics stared thier Eastern Conference semi final against the Dtroit Pistons. I didn't really watch complete games but I love watching Kevin Garnett before tip off. He is so aware of where he is, what he's doing and where he wants to go as these playoffs proceed. Garnett started playing in the NBA with a Minnesota Timberwolves ('96) team that was going nowhere before being traded to a Boston Celtics team that reloaded big time in the off season to put them selves where they are now. Congtulations to the Celtics it worked and that team is so steeped in tradition that I have admit, was painful to see them suck year after year. Hello, Chicago Blackhawks.

So, I loved watching Kevin Garnett. He's major. Celtics won Game 1 and then dropped Game 2. I think the Detroit Pistons are probably the ugliest team in the NBA. In fact one of the players is so ugly they make him wear a mask.

So I just upgraded my cable package so I can watch the Jays.

It's difficult to see them struggle with inconsistancy in a year that the Yankees are also struggling. A struggling Yankees or Red Sox team is part of the "perfect storm" that I talk about, that the Jays need to win the division or get a wild card to make the playoffs. So hopefull they will get it together. Interestingly their 5th man on the pitching rotation sophmore Jesse Litsch got his 6th win of the year against the Royals at home to become the team leader in wins on a staff that some say is the best in the majors. anyway I'm sure the Jays will start getting together now that I can watch them more. The Yankees are last in the Al East right now so it's not all bad.

Have a great weekend.
