I guess I've started my new career. I have to remind myself that I'm not just visiting Smithers I'm here to start becoming a great radio personality. It's exciting to have such a drastic change in my life. Smithers is nice place, I can walk anywhere and I always get a great view of the mountains that surround the town.
One of my first challenges was finding a place to live. The vacancy rate here is pretty low but I found a place. One of the great things about it is, in Vancouver the rent would probably be 3 times what I get tp pay. Is it a dream?
The station is really small but that suits me fine as it gives me an oppertunity to cut my teeth and get involved in other aspects of the station like production which I enjoy doing. There will be 3 people here from my class at BCIT working here also, which is kind of a trip. Chris did his internship here and then got hired, Joe will be here next week and Andrew will come up later(?) and do another internship here. He did one in Yorkton, SK for BCIT.
It'll be great. Three pictures. On eof the station (The Peak) on of my view when I leave the hotel to go to wrok & on of the stove, sorry mixing board in the main control room at the PEAK. we are getting a new board apparently. Later.
