At the radio station I work at, The Peak, we broadcast some of the hockey games of The Central Interior Hockey League. Almost all the games involve the team from Smithers where I live or the team from Houston. Houston is 65 km from Smithers.

Last night we did, for the third weekend in row, a game between the Smithers Steelheads and the Houston Luckies.

It was a surprising final result as the weekend before Smithers dominated Houston in every facet of the game and won 7-1.

Proving that inconsistency is one of the more consistent aspects of the CIHL. Houston looked very comfortable last night shutting down the Steelheads 5-3.

Next weekend we're traveling to Kitimat to broadcast two Steelheads/Ice Demons games.

Kitimat, generally speaking, have been the best team in the C.I. for the last four or five seasons. It should be a good test for Smithers.

Look for a broadcast schedule and link on my website if you are interested in listening.

The photo above is of Luckies goalie Don Kenzle during warm up last night at The Claude Parrish Memorial Arena.

Cheers.
